ADMINISTRATION The Administration consists of the DFES Chief, Assistant Chief and 3 Administration Support Specialists. This office supports Emergency Management, Operations, Prevention, Volunteer Fire Rescue Association, and County Government needs. This office also manages a $4.3 million budget where $2.7 million funded the VFRA and $1.6 million funded the DFES. Emergency management: • Coordinated the closeout of 8 grants totaling $433,155 • Applied, received and processed 4 grants within the past year totaling $236,106 • One cash proffer of $50,000 to New Baltimore • Finalized or updated the Regional All Hazards Mitigation Plan • The Potomac Tracon (FAA) Facility Emergency Response Plan (FERP) • Completed the Haz-Mat Transportation Emergency Response Plan • Initiated the update of the County Emergency Operations Plan • Activated the local emergency operations center 3 times to include 2 tornado incidents • Maintained required training per the VA Dept of Emergency Mgt • Processed orders and contracts for County 911 street signs (350 repairs/replacements) Goals for the year 2005: • Update the County Emergency Operations Plan and review all other plans • Assist the 911 Communications Center in procuring a county wide emergency notification system • Establish a wireless data connection to the Fire Rescue Stations Finance & Accounting: • Processed orders and accounts receivable & payable for over 150 vendors • Monitored accounting records totaling over $1.9 million. Human Resources Support: Provide support in workers compensation, accident & health for 350 volunteer personnel & 32 career personnel. Vehicle insurance for 128 units. Building insurance and portable equipment for 13 Fire Rescue stations.
